The Shooting Cacti of planet Mars are one of the most aggressive plant species in the entire Sol system. They hurl razor-sharp spines towards electrically sensed prey at up to fifty kilometers per hour. They will only attack animals within a few meters’ vicinity, however, as their goal is to have nutrients from the decaying carcass soak into the soil and nourish it.

Animals in captivity will usually recover from the attack and quickly learn to stay a safe distance away, where they will enjoy a Shooting Cactus or two as part of their foliage requirements.
