The Purple Void is a vast nebula in Sector Prime of the Milky Way galaxy. It is unique in that it contains many unusual star types and other peculiar phenomena. It has been a favorite site for exploration and colonization by Garthans (very dangerous), Urluquai (very dangerous), Tan Ru (very dangerous), Muktians (sometimes dangerous), and Earthlings (mostly harmless). The Earthlings had a late start, being forbidden from exploring for a few years by the Exploration Pact of 4578, although this was quickly abandoned due to the sheer number of people ignoring it anyway.
