The All-Purpose Pet is a popular green pet from planet Jamya bioengineered by Mentor First as a surprise for the Others from prehistoric animals of planet Earth. The pet can change form to a limited extent according to what the owner wants, but seems to always act like a Cat. They are all females and reproduce asexually like the Jamyns, but lay eggs instead of budding. The first in existence was known as Oola and took years to lay an egg.
When an All-Purpose Pet is extremely upset it will grow a leather shell around itself, with spikes if it is upset enough. It will not come out until the right song is sung, which is written in code on the shell.
